SMARTCO's success is due to the many volunteers that give just a few hours a week to the cause.

Volunteers need no computer skills, just a willingness to help and, most importantly, a desire to see every school with enough computers for future generations to learn on.

All volunteers not only enjoy themselves, but learn about computers in the process. Experienced volunteers will train you on dismanteling, assembling, software installations, and more.

Don't want to learn about computers? No problem, there are always things to do. Sweep the floors, move equipment around and organize items in storage. Think of this as a weekly meeting place, meet other community members, neighbors, and fellow workers.

Have you found yourself having to perform community service? Why not do that at SMARTCO? The States Attorney in St. Mary's County has recognized SMARTCO as an appropriate place for minor traffic offenders to work off community service hours imposed by the court. SMARTCO is also recognized by the three school systems in St. Mary's County as an appropriate place for students to gather community service hours to satisfy graduation requirements. Youth groups under adult supervision from local churches participate in the project as community service.

Everyone is welcome, why not give it a try? Come see for yourselves what's being done for the community we live in.
